Project Alpha
Project Alpha, a national initiative of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the March of Dimes, focuses on providing young males with factual, current information about sexual health, relationships, and teen pregnancy prevention. The program includes workshops, seminars, and role-playing exercises, encouraging teens to make informed, responsible decisions while empowering them with the tools to build self-esteem and foster positive life choices. Key topics in the curriculum cover responsibility and respect in relationships, adolescent pregnancy and fatherhood, protection against STDs, and intimate partner violence.

Project Alpha week, held annually during the second week of October, is a nationwide event where Alpha Phi Alpha chapters collaborate with their local March of Dimes chapters to execute the program. Through this initiative, young men are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make healthier decisions, navigate relationships responsibly, and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.

In partnership with the March of Dimes, the Iota Mu Lambda chapter is committed to supporting infants born prematurely and those affected by birth defects. Each year, we raise funds and actively participate in the South Puget Sound March for Babies, contributing to lifesaving research and critical care. Our involvement reflects our dedication to giving every child a healthy start and underscores our broader mission to uplift lives and create lasting change within our community. Through these efforts, the Iota Mu Lambda chapter exemplifies Alpha Phi Alpha's commitment to making a positive impact on both educational and health outcomes for future generations.
